The Best New Year's
Resolution You Will Ever Make
- George Suess,
Chief Executive Officer
As
you read this newsletter (paper copy) you will see how
dynamic and community oriented the Delaware County ARC is. I'm
sure you will notice articles or photographs about people you know
who have become involved with ARC in one way or another.
We have an outstanding
number of volunteers, members, and people from all over the County
who thoroughly getting to know and helping people with disabilities.
But there is always
room, and need, for more. As the new year begins and you are
thinking about what you would like to do different this year to help
others and to bring more meaning to your own life, we hope you will
consider adopting one or two of the following New Year's
Resolutions:
*
I will become a visitor (and maybe, eventually, a friend) to a
person with a disability who has no family * I will become a phone,
pen, or e-mail pal with a person with a disability * I will invite a
person with a disability to exercise or go for a walk with me * I
will invite people with disabilities to a
community function I am
planning * I will attend an ARC function * I will make (or increase
my) donation to ARC * I will volunteer to teach a special skill I
have to some eager people with disabilities * I will hire a person
because the capabilities far outweigh their disability * I will give
a person with a disability a ride to work * I will take a person
with a disability to lunch * I will serve on a committee of the ARC
Board of Directors * I will volunteer at an ARC event *I
will learn more about ARC * I will ride in this year's ARC
Bike-A-Thon * I will teach a person with a disability how to cook,
knit, crochet, fish, golf, play tennis, play a musical instrument,
etc...*
Please give me a call
(607) 865-7126 to discuss the many possibilities in more
detail. This is a great opportunity and the one upon which you
hope you will take immediate action. You won't regret
it! Here's to making this the best year yet for people with
disabilities in Delaware County. Thank you very much.
